Newlyweds Charlie and Sashi share almost everything in life, including the way they’ve chosen to invest.

“I’ve been with Six Park for a few years – Sashi and I got married at the end of 2020 and we both have separate accounts but shared financial goals,” Charlie explains.

The couple bought their first home together in early 2021 and kept some money aside for a future renovation.

“I had some separate shares before we bought our house and decided to move that to Six Park,” Sashi says.

“I was quite confident and comfortable because Charlie already had three years of experience and trusted it. Initially it sounded almost too good to be true, I probably would’ve had more reservations without knowing that Charlie was so happy. It was a lot more stress-free than my experience with shares.”

Reducing stress and freeing up time

Charlie has also found that investing with Six Park has reduced stress and freed up his time.

“I ended up in a situation where, after many years of working, I was accumulating savings and wanted to buy property in the future, but in the short term I wanted to do something smart,” he says.

“I dabbled in CommSec with mixed results, but I just sort of knew that getting completely into that investor mindset of reading the Fin Review and looking at annual reports was not where I wanted to put my energies.

“For a portfolio like mine, I didn’t need high-end high-touch help – a low-cost, dependable solution was perfect for where I was at.”

Sashi works at the Department of Justice, while Charlie is a marketing professional.

He had read about the booming robo-advice market in the United States, where services such as Betterment and Wealthfront are managing billions of dollars for investors.

“I loved the idea of the robo-investor, of an algorithm supported by experienced people,” he says.

“We’re a small country in Australia whereas robo is already huge in the US; they’ve really embraced this concept so that gave me comfort, and the idea of being an early adopter was also attractive.

Growing money despite volatility

Charlie says his portfolio has performed strongly, even after last year’s COVID-driven volatility.

“I’ve been really happy with the performance, especially after a couple of disruptive years on the market – my money’s growing, it’s been excellent.

“I also like knowing that, even though I’m investing with Six Park, I own the assets – it’s all in our own names.”

Peace of mind

He says peace of mind is another key benefit of investing with Six Park.

“Sashi and I met a few years ago and, since then, our finances have rapidly become more complex – we now have a mortgage, an offset account, and so on. For us, the problem that Six Park solves is spreading our assets in a diversified way – it’s real peace of mind, knowing that we have some money put away that’s growing and that we don’t need to worry about.”

Sashi agrees. “Working out what to invest in and how much to invest in it – that’s not easy. Having someone who’s tracking it much more than we are provides peace of mind

“The simplification of what to invest in has been easy. It’s a very affordable and accessible service.”
