Erika Jonsson Six Park by Erika Jonsson

After Michelle Brunton separated from her long-term partner, she needed an alternative to her long-term financial goal of buying a home.

“We had been planning to buy a house together – I’ve always been really good at saving, but I needed a place to put money where I didn’t have to think about it,” she says.

“I used to subscribe to Money Magazine and read about Six Park in a comparison between different robo-advisers. I did a quick analysis based on reviews and Six Park felt cleaner and right for me.

“It was interesting shifting gears with where to put my money, and I actually switched my goal towards an investment property so that I could keep my cash flow without sacrificing all of my savings at once. So I was automatically able to diversify and start my Six Park investment, which felt far more comfortable than just having the one big goal.”

Confidence in the Six Park experience

Michelle says the account set-up process was simple and describes the account platform as “really elegant and easy to use”.

She admits to a sense of hesitation when preparing to make her first investment.

“I guess it’s that feeling of making a major purchase decision – there’s always a bit of trepidation that comes with making a big financial decision, and it was a very new thing to invest online.

“But then a year on it’s such a comfortable experience. I know that Six Park works, I know I don’t have to worry about it – and knowing I have a safety net for 10 or 20 years’ time is a wonderful thing.”

The benefit of Six Park’s risk profiling process

The Manly resident says the risk profiling process has been powerful in helping her understand her own investing intentions.

“During the volatile times at the beginning of COVID I saw my investment dip – my risk profile was quite aggressive, but through that process I also remembered that my intention was to add more money even if the value of my investments fell. I understood the likely pattern that would play out, and that was what happened.”
